Daniel's Elephant

This whimsical elephant was painted by Daniel, age 19, a student at the Kenya Community Centre for Learning (KCCL). Daniel comments, "I drew the elephant first because it is my favourite animal. Then I painted the wall and the grass. I painted the elephant last."

In anticipation of the New Year, I was looking again at the great calendar produced by the kids of the KCCL, which was "...founded by parents in 2001 as a non-formal and special educational alternative for students 6-21 years of age." Daniel's elephant was the April 2007 image. Hope he doesn't mind me sharing it with others.
